Legacy in Winnsboro
The facility at Winnsboro has a long tradition of religious activity, which still survives today as we grow into a much broader range of activities, both spiritual (we have a lovely chapel) and secular in nature - but we'll always have bingo! We try to do as much as possible with our residents and offer a variety of outings across the local region. For those who like to stay at home, we have begun a small community garden for quiet time and contemplation, not for work.
Dining is all the rage at Winnsboro. We try to put together three or four cookouts every year, and over the course of regular meals, we offer baked alternatives during lunch, including beef patties, chicken, pork chops, and fish. And we prepare dishes for individuals upon request, like smothered-buttered potatoes, lean salads, and more. We offer a salad bar with every Meal-Of-The-Month and once more quarterly. And the residents love the services provided by Mrs. Sheila, DON, who provides wonderful monthly pancake breakfasts (plain and blueberry) on the griddle in the dining room.
Mrs. Betty offers a special breakfast buffet about once a quarter, which includes waffles, biscuits and gravy, French toast, and fruit dishes. She also serves soup of the month along with regular meals.

Meet our Administrator, Angelica Higgins
Born and raised in Winnsboro, LA, I have grown to know and become an active supporter of the community as a church member and volunteer with local businesses. I attended Winnsboro High School and graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration.
In recent years, I have enjoyed the healthcare industry, becoming an administrator and working as an LPN for the past 15 years. She is the mother of one son who enjoys Computer Science and Spanish. Here at Legacy, I plan to provide innovative and creative solutions to developing our residents and our care.
